The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
CONSIDER the sky full of great constellations, 1 by the promised day, 2 by the Witness and the witnessed, 3 Accursed be the People of the Ditch! 4 by a burning fire 5 while they themselves sat around it 6 And they were witnesses of what they did with the believers. 7 And they resented them not except because they believed in Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy, 8 to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. Allah witnesses everything. 9 Those who persecuted the believing men and women and never repented, there is for them the punishment of Gehenna (Hell), and for them the punishment of the burning. 10 For those who believe and do righteous deeds, will be Gardens; beneath which rivers flow: That is the great Salvation, (the fulfilment of all desires), 11 Lo! the punishment of thy Lord is stern. 12 It is verily He who initiates and repeats. 13 He is the All-forgiving, the Most Loving One, 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 Performer of what He desires. 16 Have you not heard about the stories of the armies 17 the armies of Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 And yet, they who are bent on denying the truth persist in giving it the lie: 19 but all the while God encompasses them [with His knowledge and might] without their being aware of it. 20 This is indeed the glorious Qur'an 21 [Inscribed] in a Preserved Slate. 22
