Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Blessed is He in whose hands is the Kingdom and who has power over all things. 1 Who hath created death and life that He might prove you, as to which of you is excellent in work. And He is the Mighty, the Forgiver. 2 He created seven heavens one above the other in layers. You will not find any flaw in the creation of the Gracious One. Then look once again: can you see any flaw? 3 Then look again and again. Your gaze will come back to you confused and exhausted. 4 And we have, (from of old), adorned the lowest heaven with Lamps, and We have made such (Lamps) (as) missiles to drive away the Evil Ones, and have prepared for them the Penalty of the Blazing Fire. 5 The chastisement of Hell awaits those who disbelieve in their Lord. What a wretched destination! 6 When they are cast therein, they will hear the (terrible) drawing in of its breath even as it blazes forth, 7 as though it will burst with rage. Every time a multitude is cast into it, its keepers will ask them: “Did no warner come to you?” 8 They will say, "Of course, a warner did come to us, but we belied him and we said, 'God has revealed nothing; you are in gross error.'" 9 And they will then say: 'If only we had listened and understood we should not now be among the inhabitants of the Blaze' 10 Then they will confess their sin. So, away with the dwellers of the blazing Fire. 11 Those who fear their Lord in secret will receive forgiveness and a great reward. 12 And whether ye hide your word or publish it, He certainly has (full) knowledge, of the secrets of (all) hearts. 13 Does the One Who is Subtle, All-aware, and Who created all things not know all about them? 14
