The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Of what ask they? 1 They quarrel about the great news 2 About which they have been differing? 3 No indeed; soon will they come to know; 4 Nay, again, but they will come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 And the mountains as projections (thereon)? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 And We made your sleep to be rest (to you), 9 And made the night as clothing 10 And have appointed the day for livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong ones, 12 and We have set therein a glowing lamp. 13 And We sent down rain from water-laden clouds pouring in torrents 14 That We may bring forth thereby corn and herbs, 15 and gardens luxuriant. 16 Indeed the Day of Decision is a time fixed. 17 the Day that the Horn is blown, and you shall come in crowds 18 and heaven is opened, and become gates, 19 and the mountains will be set in motion and become a mirage. 20 Truly, Hell is a place of ambush, 21 A place of resort for the inordinate, 22 In it shall they remain for a long time. 23 Finding neither sleep nor any thing to drink 24 Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. 25 An appropriate recompense. 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 And they belied Our revelations with strong belying. 28 but We have recorded everything in a Book. 29 So taste (the fruit of what you sowed), for We shall add nothing but torment, 30
