The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 While eyes are downcast 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
