He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man, [interrupting]. 2 But what could tell thee but that perchance he might grow (in spiritual understanding)?- 3 Or take heed and so the reminder might avail him? 4 Yet you pay attention 5 you attended to him, 6 Yet it is not thy concern if he grow not (in grace). 7 But as to him who came to you running. 8 and fearfully, 9 him didst thou disregard! 10 No indeed; this is only a Reminder. 11 and whosoever wills, shall remember it. 12 Inscribed in Writs honoured, 13 most exalted and purified, 14 By the hands of scribes. 15 noble and virtuous scribes. 16 Perish Man! How unthankful he is! 17 From what substance did He create him? 18 Of a sperm-drop He created him, and determined him, 19 Then maketh the way easy for him, 20 Then He caused him to die and be buried 21 Then, when He will, He bringeth him again to life. 22 Not one he has not yet completed what he was commanded. 23 Then let mankind look at his food - 24 That We pour down the water, pouring (it) down in abundance, 25 and cleaved the earth, cleaving it asunder; 26 how We made the grain to grow, 27 grapes, and fresh fodder, 28 And olives and date palms, 29 And gardens, dense with many trees, 30 and fruits and herbage, 31 (To be) a provision and benefit for you and your cattle. 32 But when the deafening cry comes, 33 The day on which a man shall fly from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father 35 As well as his wife and children. 36 on that Day, to every one of them will his own state be of sufficient concern. 37 on that Day some faces will be beaming, 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 Some faces on that Day shall be dust-ridden, 40 o'erspread with darkness -- 41 These will be the faces of the sinful disbelievers. 42
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

(1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
