The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Terror descends 1 There is no belying its coming to pass-- 2 It will abase some and exalt others. 3 when the earth will suddenly shake with a terrible shaking, 4 and the mountains are shattered into [countless] shards, 5 Becoming dust scattered abroad, 6 And ye will be three kinds: 7 The people of the right hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their right hands. How happy they will be! 8 Companions of the Left, what are the Companions of the Left? 9 And those who surpassed have indeed excelled. 10 Those are the ones brought near [to Allah] 11 They are in Gardens of peace. 12 (a throng of the ancients 13 And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations). 14 (They will be) on Thrones encrusted (with gold and precious stones), 15 Reclining thereon, face to face. 16 Round about them shall go youths never altering in age, 17 with goblets, and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 a drink by which their minds will not be clouded nor will it cause drunkenness; 19 And fruit that they prefer 20 and the flesh of birds, as they desire. 21 And (there will be) Houris (fair females) with wide, lovely eyes (as wives for the pious), 22 Like pearls within their shells, 23 As recompense for all they had done. 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 only the words of peace and tranquillity. 26 And those on the right how (fortunate) are those on the right! 27 [They, too, will find themselves] amidst fruit laden lote-trees, 28 and banana trees, 29 and spreading shade 30 Gushing water, 31 And fruit in abundance. 32 undiminished and never denied 33 And exalted thrones. 34 and their spouses We shall have brought them into being afresh, 35 Then We have made them virgins, 36 Loving, of equal age. 37 For those on the right. 38

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
