[Useless, though, will be his repentance: for [as long as he was alive] he did not accept the truth, nor did he pray [for enlightenment,] 31 But called the truth a lie and turned back, 32 then went arrogantly to his household. 33 [And yet, O man, thine end comes hourly] nearer unto thee, and nearer 34 and ever nearer unto thee, and nearer! 35 Does man think that he will be left neglected? 36 Was he not a Nutfah (mixed male and female discharge of semen) poured forth? 37 Then he became an 'Alaqa (a clot); then (Allah) shaped and fashioned (him) in due proportion. 38 Then He made of him two kinds, the male and the female. 39 So will He, Who has done all this, not be able to revive the dead? 40
