Is it not clear to those who inherit the earth in succession from its (previous) possessors, that had We willed, We would have punished them for their sins. And We seal up their hearts so that they hear not? 100 Such were the towns whose story We (thus) relate unto thee: There came indeed to them their messengers with clear (signs): But they would not believe what they had rejected before. Thus doth Allah seal up the hearts of those who reject faith. 101 We did not find most of them true to their covenants; indeed We found most of them to be transgressors. 102 Then We sent after them Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his establishment, but they were unjust toward them. So see how was the end of the corrupters. 103 And Moses said, "O Pharaoh, I am a messenger from the Lord of the worlds 104 "I am duty bound to speak nothing of God but the truth I have brought from your Lord a clear sign; so let the people of Israel depart with me." 105 [Pharaoh] said, "If you come with a sign, then produce it, if you are telling the truth." 106 Then he flung down his staff and lo! it was a serpent manifest; 107 And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white [with radiance] for the observers. 108
