The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 Those who humbly cry in their prayers. 2 And who shun vain conversation, 3 pay their religious tax 4 Who guard their sex 5 [not giving way to their desires] with any but their spouses - that is, those whom they rightfully possess [through wedlock]: for then, behold, they are free of all blame, 6 But those who covet more than this will be transgressors; 7 (Prosperous are those) who preserve their trusts and pledges 8 And those who of their prayers are observant. 9 Those are the heirs 10 that will inherit the paradise; [and] therein shall they abide. 11 We have created the human being from an extract of clay 12 then We made him, a drop, in a secure receptacle (the womb). 13 then We made this drop into a clot, then We made the clot into a lump, then We made the lump into bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We caused it to grow into another creation. Thus Most Blessed is Allah, the Best of all those that create. 14 Then indeed, after that you are to die. 15 then on the Day of Resurrection you shall surely be raised up. 16 We have indeed fashioned above you seven paths. Never were We unaware of the task of creation. 17 We send down water from the sky in determined measure, and store it up in the earth; and We have power to drain it away. 18 We have established for you gardens of palm trees and vineyards with this water with many fruits for you to consume. 19 And a tree (olive) that springs forth from Mount Sinai, that grows oil, and (it is a) relish for the eaters. 20 There are lessons for you in the cattle from whose bellies We give you milk to drink, and there are other advantages that you derive from them, and some of them you eat; 21 And on them, and on ships you are carried. 22
