O you apostles, eat things that are clean, and do things that are good. We are surely cognisant of what you do. 51 Your religion is one and I am your Lord. Have fear of Me". 52 But their nations broke their tasks into pieces; every group happy with what it has. 53 But leave them in their confused ignorance for a time. 54 Do they think that by all the wealth and offspring with which We provide them 55 We provide them with the means of competing with each other in virtuous deeds, but they do not realize this. 56 Only those who are, out of fear of Him, humble before their Lord, 57 and who believe in their Sustainer's messages, 58 who associate none with their Lord in His Divinity, 59 and those who give what they give, their hearts quaking that they are returning to their Lord -- 60 Are the ones who hasten to goodness and outpace the others. 61 We do not impose on any soul what is beyond its capacity. We have the Book which speaks the truth and no injustice will be done to it. 62 But their hearts are heedless of this. Moreover, there are other deeds besides this which they do. 63 Until when We seize their affluent ones with punishment, at once they are crying [to Allah] for help. 64 [But they will be told] "Cry not in supplication today; for, behold, you shall not be succoured by Us! 65 My revelations were recited to you, but you turned your backs 66 In scorn thereof. Nightly did ye rave together. 67 Did they never ponder over this Word (of God)? Or has he (to wit, the Messenger) brought something the like of which did not come to their forefathers of yore? 68 Or is it that they have not recognized their Apostle, so that they deny him? 69 Do they say he is mad! No, he came to them with the truth, but most of them hate the truth. 70 Had the truth followed their fancies, the heavens, the earth, and all who live in them would have surely been corrupted. No, We brought them their Remembrance; but from their Remembrance they turn away. 71 Are you asking them for something? What Allah has given you is the best. He is the Best of providers. 72 And verily thou! thou callest them unto a Path straight. 73 But those who believe not in the Hereafter turn away from the straight path. 74 ۞ If We took compassion on them and removed the affliction they are in, they would only wander lost in confusion. 75 Already have We grasped them with punishment, but they humble not themselves unto their Lord, nor do they pray, 76 To the extent that when We opened the gate of a severe punishment for them, they thereupon lie despairingly in it. 77
