The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Hath there come upon man (ever) any period of time in which he was a thing unremembered? 1 Verily We! We created man from a sperm of mixtures, that We might prove him, wherefore We made him hearing, seeing. 2 Verily, We showed him the way, whether he be grateful or ungrateful. 3 We have prepared for unbelievers chains and collars and a blazing fire. 4 As to the Righteous, they shall drink of a Cup (of Wine) mixed with Kafur,- 5 a fountain whereat drink the servants of God, making it to gush forth plenteously. 6 They fulfill their vow and dread a Day the evil whereof shall be widespreading. 7 And feed with food the needy wretch, the orphan and the prisoner, for love of Him, 8 Saying: we feed you only for the sake of Allah; we desire not from you any recompense or thanks. 9 "Verily, We fear from our Lord a Day, hard and distressful, that will make the faces look horrible (from extreme dislikeness to it)." 10 So Allah will protect them from the evil of that Day and give them radiance and happiness 11 And reward them for their perseverence Paradise and silken robes, 12 Reclining upon couches, they will find therein neither the heat of the sun nor bitter, biting cold, 13 And its shade will cover them, and its fruit clusters brought down low for them. 14 And amongst them will be passed round vessels of silver and goblets of crystal,- 15 Glass made from silver, which the servers have filled up to the measure. 16 They will drink cups containing (soft flowing) sparkling water 17 from a fountain called Salsabila. 18 ۞ Immortal youths will go about them, when you see them, you would suppose them to be scattered pearls. 19 and when thou seest [anything that is] there thou wilt see [only] bliss and a realm transcendent 20 Upon them will be green Garments of fine silk and heavy brocade, and they will be adorned with Bracelets of silver; and their Lord will give to them to drink of a Wine Pure and Holy. 21 "This in truth is your recompense, and acceptance of your endeavours." 22
