Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 And when the books are spread, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
True are the words of God the Almighty.
