The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
