The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 And when the seas rise, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 and the night that falls, 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
