The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night when it envelopeth, 1 by the day when it appears radiant, 2 And [by] He who created the male and female, 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 Then as for him who giveths and feareth Him. 5 And (in all sincerity) testifies to the best,- 6 We will make smooth for him the path of ease (goodness). 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 And denied the best matter, 9 We will ease him toward difficulty. 10 His riches will not save him when he perisheth. 11 Truly! Ours it is (to give) guidance, 12 And indeed, to Us belongs the Hereafter and the first [life]. 13 I have warned you then about a raging Fire: 14 whereat none but the most wretched shall be roasted, 15 who denied [the truth], and turned away. 16 One who fears God shall be kept away from it -- 17 Those who spend their wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 and owes no favour to anyone, which is to be repaid, 19 but only to seek the good pleasure of his Lord Most High. 20 And he shall soon be well-pleased. 21
Almighty God's Truth.
