The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)

286 verses, revealed in Medina after The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen) before The Spoils of War (Al-Anfaal)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 That is the (Holy) Book, where there is no doubt. It is a guidance for the cautious (of evil and Hell). 2 Who believe in the unseen, establish prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them, 3 And who believe in what has been revealed to you, [O Muhammad], and what was revealed before you, and of the Hereafter they are certain [in faith]. 4 Such people are on the right way from their Lord and such are truly successful. 5 BEHOLD, as for those who are bent on denying the truth - it is all one to them whether thou warnest them or dost not warn them: they will not believe. 6 God has sealed their hearts and hearing and their vision is veiled; a great punishment awaits them. 7
