Al-Saaffaat 3 of 5
Noah called for help. How blessed was the answer which he received. 75 We saved him and his people from great distress, 76 And We made his offspring the survivors. 77 We left mention of him among later generations. 78 Peace and salutation to Nuh among the nations. 79 This is how We reward the virtuous. 80 For he was one of our believing Servants. 81 Then We did drown the others. 82 ۞ Abraham was one of his followers. 83 Recall what time he came unto his Lord with a heart whole. 84 Behold! he said to his father and to his people, "What is that which ye worship? 85 “What! You desire, through fabrication, Gods other than Allah?” 86 What then is your opinion of the Lord of the Worlds? 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars, 88 Then said: Lo! I feel sick! 89 So they turned away from him, departing. 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said: 'What do you eat? 91 What aileth ye that ye speak not? 92 Then he turned upon them, striking (them) with (his) right hand. 93 Then they (the worshippers of idols) came, towards him, hastening. 94 "Why do you worship these you carve yourselves," he asked, 95 "While Allah has created you and what you make!" 96 They exclaimed: "Build a pyre for him, and cast him into the blazing fire!" 97 So they contrived a plot against him, but We made them abject. 98 And [Abraham] said: "Verily, I shall [leave this land and] go wherever my Sustainer will guide me!" 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 We gave him the good news that he would have a patient, forbearing son. 101 And when he reached the age when he could work with him, he said, "O my son, I have seen in a dream that I am sacrificing you. So tell me what you think of it!" He replied, "O my father, do as you are commanded; and God willing, you will find me steadfast." 102 When they both agreed and Abraham had lain down his son on the side of his face (for slaughtering), 103 We called unto him, 'Abraham, 104 You have fulfilled your dream." Thus do We reward the good. 105 Indeed, this was the clear trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty victim. 107 And We left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations (to come) in later times. 108 "Peace upon Abraham." 109 Thus do We reward the good-doers. 110 He was one of Our believing worshipers. 111 We gave Abraham the good news of Isaac, a prophet and a righteous man, 112 We blessed him and Ishaque (Isaac), and of their progeny are (some) that do right, and some that plainly wrong themselves. 113

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
