Thus did We deliver the Children of Israel from the humiliating chastisement, 30 and from the Pharaoh. He was the chief of the transgressors. 31 And We chose them, purposely, above (all) creatures. 32 And We gave them of signs that in which there was a clear trial. 33 Yet these say: 34 "There is nothing but our first death, and we shall not be resurrected. 35 "Then bring back our fore-fathers, if you speak the truth!" 36 Are they better, or the people of Tubba? And those who were before them? We destroyed them; they were indeed criminals. 37 It was not in idle sport that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. 38 We created them not save with truth; but most of them know not. 39 The Day of Final Decision is the appointed time for all; 40 The day when friend will help no friend in the least, nor will they be helped, 41 save those upon whom God will have bestowed His grace and mercy: for, verily, He alone is almighty, a dispenser of grace. 42
