The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 and brightening morning, 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Where then are you going? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
