The Night (Al-Layl)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the night, when it envelops, 1 And the day when it shines in all its glory, 2 By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;- 3 Verily, [O men,] you aim at most divergent ends! 4 As for him who gives (in charity) and keeps his duty to Allah and fears Him, 5 and confirms the reward most fair, 6 We will pave his way to ease. 7 But as for him who is niggardly, and thinks that he is self-sufficient, 8 And who belieth the Good, 9 for him shall We make easy the path towards hardship: 10 his wealth shall not avail him when he perishes. 11 Surely upon Us rests the guidance, 12 And verify Ours is both the Hereafter and the life present. 13 I have warned you about the fierce blazing fire 14 None will [enter to] burn therein except the most wretched one. 15 who denied [the truth], and turned away. 16 He will be far away from the most pious. (The first Caliph S. Abu Bakr Siddiq) 17 He who spends his wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 And none hath with him any favour for reward, 19 Other than seeking the glory of his Lord, most high, 20 He surely will be pleased (when he will enter Paradise). 21
