A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Alif Lam Mim Suad. 1 [This is] a Book revealed to you, [O Muhammad] - so let there not be in your breast distress therefrom - that you may warn thereby and as a reminder to the believers. 2 Follow what has been revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow guardians besides Him, how little do you mind. 3 How many a city We have destroyed! Our might came upon it at night, or while they took their ease in the noontide, 4 And when Our Might fell upon them they only said: 'We have indeed been harmdoers' 5 Then verily We shall question those unto whom (Our message) hath been sent, and verily We shall question the messengers. 6 Then surely, We shall narrate unto them (their whole story) with knowledge, and indeed We were not absent. 7 The weighing on that Day will be the true weighing: those whose scales are heavy will prosper. 8 And as for him whose measure (of good deeds) is light those are they who have made their souls suffer loss because they disbelieved in Our communications. 9 We established you in the earth and made for you a livelihood but little is it that you give thanks. 10
