Bring to mind Our servant Job who cried to his Lord, "Satan has afflicted me with distress and suffering." 41 [and thereupon was told:] "Strike [the ground] with thy foot: here is cool water to wash with and to drink!" 42 And We bestowed upon him new offspring, doubling their number as an act of grace from Us, and as a reminder unto all who are endowed with insight. 43 And take in thine hand a handful of twigs, and strike therewith, and break not thine oath. Verily We! We found him patient. How excellent a bondman! Verily he was oft-returning. 44 And remember Our servants -- Abraham, Isaac and Jacob -- they were endowed with great strength and vision. 45 Verily We exalted them in consideration of a sterling quality: their remembrance of the Abode of the Hereafter. 46 Lo! in Our sight they are verily of the elect, the excellent. 47 And remember Isma'il (Ishmael), Al-Yasa'a (Elisha), and Dhul-Kifl (Isaiah), all are among the best. 48 This is a Reminder, and verily, for the Muttaqun (pious and righteous persons - see V. 2:2) is a good final return (Paradise), 49 They will enter gardens of Eden with their gates open for them. 50 Wherein, reclining, they call for plenteous fruit and cool drink (that is) therein. 51 ۞ And with them will be virgins of refraining looks and of equal age. 52 This is what you are promised for the Day of Reckoning: 53 (It will be said to them)! Verily, this is Our Provision which will never finish; 54 All this [for the righteous]: but, verily, the most evil of all goals awaits those who are wont to transgress the bounds of what is right: 55 Hell; which they shall enter; what an evil resting-place! 56 This (shall be so); so let them taste it, boiling and intensely cold (drink). 57 and other similar to it, joined together. 58 'This is a troop rushing in with you; there is no Welcome for them; they shall roast in the Fire.' 59 They shall say: Nay! you-- no welcome to you: you did proffer it to us, so evil is the resting-place. 60 They say: Our Lord! Whoever did prepare this for us, oh, give him double portion of the Fire! 61 And they will say: "What is the matter with us that we see not men whom we used to count among the bad ones?" 62 Did we take them as an object of mockery, or have (our) eyes failed to perceive them?" 63 This contending of the inmates of Hell will surely be real. 64
