Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Reality (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! 1 What is the Reality? 2 What makes you to know what the Resurrection Verifier is? 3 The people of Thamud and Ad denied the Day of Judgment. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the awful cry! 5 and as for Ad, they were destroyed by a wind clamorous, 6 which He willed against them for seven nights and eight days without cease, so that in the end thou couldst see those people laid low [in death,] as though they were so many [uprooted] trunks of hollow palm trees: 7 Then do you see of them any remains? 8 Pharaoh and those before him and the people of the overturned habitations all engaged in the same great sin. 9 They defied their Lord's messenger, so He seized them with an ever-tightening grip. 10 When the flood rose high and covered the whole land, We carried you in the Ark. 11 as a lesson for you, but only attentive ears will retain it. 12 When a single blow is blown on the Horn, 13 And the earth and mountains heaved and crushed to powder with one levelling blow, 14 On that Day will come what is to come. 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that day it will be frail. 16 And the angels will be on its sides; and on that day, eight angels will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that day you shall be exposed to view-- no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Take, read my Record! 19 I was certain I'll be given my account." 20 Then he will be in blissful state 21 In a Garden lofty. 22 its clusters nigh to gather. 23 Eat and drink with benefit for that which ye sent on beforehand in days past. 24 But as for him who is given his book in his left hand, he shall say, 'Would that I had not been given my book 25 "And that I had never realised how my account (stood)! 26 Would that it (my death) had ended it all! 27 My wealth has been of no use to me. 28 There hath perished from me my authority. 29 (A command will be issued): “Seize him and shackle him, 30 Then cast him into the burning fire, 31 then in a chain of seventy cubits' length insert him! 32 He would not believe in Allah, the Most Great; 33 nor did he urge the feeding of the needy. 34 so today he has no friend here, 35 Nor any food except filth from the washing of wounds, 36 None will eat it except the sinners. 37
