And certainly We sent Musa with Our communications and a clear authority, 96 to Pharaoh and his nobles. But they obeyed the command of Pharaoh even though Pharaoh's command was not rightly-directed. 97 He shall stand at the head of his people on the Day of Resurrection, and will bring them down to the Fire. What a wretched destination to be led to! 98 They are condemned in this world and in the life to come. Evil is the gift and the recipient! 99 That is from the stories of the cities which We recount unto thee: of them some are standing and some mown down. 100 We did not wrong them; they wronged themselves. When your Lord's chastisement descended upon them, their gods, on whom they called apart from God, were not of the least avail, and all they did was only to add to their destruction. 101 And such is thy Sustainer's punishing grasp whenever He takes to task any community that is given to evildoing: verily, His punishing grasp is grievous, severe! 102 Indeed in that is a sign for those who fear the punishment of the Hereafter. That is a Day for which the people will be collected, and that is a Day [which will be] witnessed. 103 And We do not postpone it except for a fixed term. 104 The day it cometh no soul shall speak save by His leave: then of them some shall be wretched and some blessed. 105 As for those who are wretched, they will be in the Fire, sighing in a high and low tone. 106 therein to abide as long as the heavens and the earth endure - unless thy Sustainer wills it otherwise: for, verily, thy Sustainer is a sovereign doer of whatever He wills. 107 ۞ And as to those who are made happy, they shall be in the garden, abiding in it as long as the heavens and the earth endure, except as your Lord please; a gift which shall never be cut off. 108 So be not in doubt (O Muhammad SAW) as to what these (pagans and polytheists) men worship. They worship nothing but what their fathers worshipped before (them). And verily, We shall repay them in full their portion without diminution. 109
