Surely We created man of a clay of mud moulded, 26 And the jinn We created before, of intensely hot fire. 27 And (remember) when thy Lord said unto the angels: Lo! I am creating a mortal out of potter's clay of black mud altered, 28 “Therefore when I have properly fashioned him and breathed into him a chosen noble soul from Myself, fall down before him in prostration.” 29 So the angels prostrated - all of them entirely, 30 But Satan did not; he refused to join those who prostrated themselves. 31 Allah said: O Iblis! what aileth thou that thou art not with the prostrates? 32 "How could I bow," said he, "before a mortal whom You created from fermented clay dried tingling hard?" 33 (Allah) said: 'Begone, you are accursed! 34 "And verily, the curse shall be upon you till the Day of Recompense (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)." 35 He said, "My Lord, then reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected." 36 Answered He: "Verily, so be it: thou shalt be among those who are granted respite 37 till that Appointed Day." 38 Said he, 'My Lord, for Thy perverting me I shall deck all fair to them in the earth, and I shall pervert them, all together, 39 except the devoted amongst Your worshippers. 40 Allah said: this is the path leading unto Me straight. 41 Surely, you shall have no power over My true servants, except those misguided ones who choose to follow you. 42 being perverse; Gehenna shall be their promised land all together. 43 It has seven gates; for each gate is a portion assigned from them. 44
