And assuredly the dwellers of Hijr belied the sent ones. 80 We also gave them Our Signs, yet they turned away from them. 81 They hewed their dwellings out of the mountains in safety. 82 But As-Saihah (torment - awful cry etc.) overtook them in the early morning (of the fourth day of their promised punishment days). 83 Then availed them not that which they had been earning. 84 AND [remember:] We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them without [an inner] truth; but, behold, the Hour [when this will become clear to all] is indeed yet to come. Hence, forgive [men's failings] with fair forbearance: 85 Your Lord is indeed the Creator of all, the All-Knowing. 86 We have given you the seven oft-recited verses and the great Quran. 87 Cast not thine eyes toward that which We have let classes of them to enjoy; and grieve not over them, and lower thy wing unto the believers. 88 And say: "I am a distinct warner," 89 So We sent it down to the partitioners, 90 Those who broke the Word of Allah into several parts. (Those who broke the Torah / Bible or changed its text – or those who called the Qur’an a fabrication / poetry.) 91 Them, by thy Lord, We shall question, every one, 92 For all that they used to do. 93 Preach what you have been commanded to and stay away from the pagans. 94 Truly! We will suffice you against the scoffers. 95 Who set up along with Allah another ilah (god), they will come to know. 96 We certainly know that their statements sorely grieve you. 97 But you should glorify your Lord with praises, and be among those who bow in submission; 98 And worship your Lord until there comes to you the certainty (death). 99
