Truly, it is the sending of the Lord of the Worlds. 192 The Faithful Spirit has descended with it, 193 upon thy heart, that thou mayest be one of the warners, 194 in a clear, Arabic tongue. 195 Truly it is in the Scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is not the fact (that the Israelite scholars already knew about the Quran through their Book) sufficient evidence for the pagans of the truthfulness (of the Quran)? 197 Had We revealed it to a man of obscure tongue 198 and had he recited it unto them [in his own tongue,] they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus it passes through the hearts of the criminals. 200 They will not believe in it until they suffer the painful torment. 201 so that it will come upon them suddenly, while they are unaware, 202 Then they will exclaim, "Could we have some respite?" 203 Do they wish Us then to hasten the punishment? 204 What thinkest thou? If We give them enjoyment of days for many years, 205 And then there came to them that which they were promised? 206 of what avail will be the provisions of life which they have been granted to enjoy? 207 We never destroyed any town without first sending to them warning and guidance. 208 By way of admonition, and We have never been oppressors. 209 The devils did not bring it down. 210 It is not meet for them, nor is it in their power, 211 Lo! verily they are banished from the hearing. 212 Therefor invoke not with Allah another god, lest thou be one of the doomed. 213 And warn thou thy clan, the nearest ones. 214 And spread your wing of mercy for the believers following you. 215 Then if they disobey you, say: "I am innocent of what you do." 216 Put your trust in the Mighty One, the Merciful, 217 who sees you when you stand up [for prayer], 218 And (seeth) thine abasement among those who fall prostrate (in worship). 219 Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the Satans come down? 221 They descend on every guilty impostor. 222 They pass on what is heard, and most of them are liars. 223 And the astray follow the poets. 224 Observest thou not, that they wander about every vale. 225 and they say what they do not do? 226 The righteously striving believers among them who remember God very often and use their talent to seek help after they have been wronged are the exceptional. The unjust will soon know how terrible their end will be. 227
