Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By (the winds) that scatter dust. 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 And those that glide with ease (upon the sea) 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 indeed, that which you are promised is true, 5 the Judgement will surely come to pass -- 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 your ideas are confused. 8 perverted in his views thereon is he who would deceive himself! 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 Those who (flounder) heedless in a flood of confusion: 11 They ask: When is the day of judgment? 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 'Taste your trial! This is that you were seeking to hasten.' 14 Indeed the pious are among Gardens and water springs. 15 Taking what their Lord gives them; surely they were before that, the doers of good. 16 They slept very little during the night 17 And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness, 18 and in their wealth there was a rightful share for him who would ask and for the destitute. 19 And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty, 20 As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see? 21 And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as surely true as that you have speech. 23
