The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 and is no idle tale. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
