۞ And indeed We bestowed Ibrahim with guidance from the beginning, and We were Aware of him. 51 When he said to his father and his people: "What are these idols to which you cling so passionately?" 52 They said, 'We found our fathers serving them.' 53 He said, "Indeed ye have been in manifest error - ye and your fathers." 54 They said: hast thou come unto us with the truth, or art thou of those who sport? 55 He said: "Nay, but your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth which He created and to that I bear witness before you. 56 “And, by oath of Allah, I shall seek to harm your idols after you have gone away and turned your backs.” 57 So he broke them into pieces, except the chief of them, that haply they may return to it. 58 They said, 'Who has. done this with our gods? Surely he is one of the evildoers.' 59 They said: We heard a youth make mention of them, who is called Abraham. 60 They said, "Then bring him before the eyes of the people that they may testify." 61 (On Abraham's arrival) they said: "Abraham, are you he who has done this to our gods?" 62 He said: rather he hath wrought it, this big one of them; so question them, if they ever speak. 63 So they turned towards their own selves and (inwardly) said, “Indeed you yourselves are unjust.” 64 Then were they confounded with shame: (they said), "Thou knowest full well that these (idols) do not speak!" 65 He said, “What! You worship, instead of Allah, one that neither benefits you nor harms you?” 66 Woe to you for what you worship instead of God. Have you no understanding?" 67 They said: Burn him and help your gods, if you are going to do (anything). 68 We said: "O fire, become coolness and safety for Abraham." 69 They had sought to do evil to him, but We caused them to be the worst losers, 70 And We delivered him as well as Lut (removing them) to the land which We had blessed for all people. 71 And We bestowed on him Isaac and, as an additional gift, (a grandson), Jacob, and We made righteous men of every one (of them). 72 and appointed them leaders to guide by Our Command and We revealed to them to do good deeds, and to establish the prayer, and the giving of charity, and they were for Us worshipers. 73 To Lot We gave wisdom and knowledge and delivered him from the city which practiced abomination. They were indeed a wicked people. 74 We admitted him to Our mercy; he was a righteous man. 75
