Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Ha Mim: 1 A sending down from the Merciful, the Compassionate. 2 a Book whose verses have been well-expounded; an Arabic Qur'an for those who have knowledge, 3 Announcing happy news and warnings. And yet most of them are averse and do not listen, 4 And they say, "Our hearts are within coverings from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a partition, so work; indeed, we are working." 5 Say: "I am a man like you, (but) it is revealed to me that your God is one God, so take the straight path to Him, and ask Him to forgive your sins. Woe to the idolaters 6 who do not pay zakat and have no faith in the life to come. 7 Verily those who believe and work righteous works - unto them shall be a hire unceasing. 8
