The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ What are they asking (one another)? 1 (Is it) of the great announcement 2 About which they differ? 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 And the mountains as projections (thereon)? 7 Have We not created you in pairs, 8 And We have made your sleep as a rest. 9 And made the night as a covering, 10 and We appointed day for a livelihood. 11 And We have builded over you seven strong heavens. 12 and placed in them a blazing lamp 13 And then sent down hard rain from the water bearing clouds. 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetables, 15 and gardens dense with foliage? 16 Lo! the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; 18 And the heavens shall be opened as if there were doors, 19 and the mountains move, and vaporize. 20 Behold, Gehenna has become an ambush, 21 The destination of the rebellious. 22 for the rebellious ones and they will live therein for ages. 23 Therein taste they neither coolness nor (any) drink 24 Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold, 25 Reward proportioned (to their evil deeds). 26 They indeed hoped not for a reckoning, 27 And they denied Our signs to the extreme. 28 And everything We have recorded in a book. 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30
