When the messengers came to Lot and his family, 61 he said, "You are strangers [to me]." 62 They said: "Nay, we have brought to you that concerning which they have been in doubt. 63 And we have come to you with truth, and indeed, we are truthful. 64 So travel with thy household in a portion of the night, and follow thou their backs. Let none of you turn round, but go whither ye are commanded. 65 And We conveyed to him [the decree] of that matter: that those [sinners] would be eliminated by early morning. 66 In the meantime the people of the city came to Lot rejoicing. 67 Lut said: "These are my guests: disgrace me not: 68 Have fear of Allah, and do not humiliate me." 69 They said: "Did we not forbid thee (to speak) for all and sundry?" 70 Lot exclaimed in exasperation: "If you are bent on doing something, then here are my daughters." 71 By your life, they wandered on in their wild intoxication 72 Therefore the scream overcame them at sunrise. 73 And We made the upside there of downwards, and We rained on them stones of baked clay. 74 In this there is evidence (of the Truth) for the prudent ones. 75 That town lies on a road which still exists. 76 Most surely there is a sign in this for the believers. 77 And the people of Aykah were also wrong-doers. 78 So, We took vengeance on them. They are both on an open highway, plain to see. 79
