Nay, by the moon, 32 And the night when on the wane, 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 a warning to humans, 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Every soul is mortgaged for its own deeds. 38 save the People of the Right Hand 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 Of evil-doers: 41 [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 Nor did we feed the wretched. 44 and we plunged along with the plungers, 45 and we denied the Day of Judgement 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 What aileth them, therefore, that they are from the admonition turning away? 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 Fleeing from a lion! 51 Is it that everyone of them wants to receive a heavenly book addressed to him personally? 52 By no means. In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56
