Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 Faces on that Day shall be downcast, 2 Toiling, weary, 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 watered at a boiling fountain, 5 They will have no food other than bitter and thorny fruit 6 Neither nourishing nor banishing hunger. 7 (Other) faces that Day will be joyful, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 in a sublime Garden, 10 hearing there no babble; 11 Therein is a fountain flowing, 12 Wherein are couches raised 13 And cups put in place 14 and cushions arrayed in rows, 15 And rich carpets spread. 16 What, do they not consider how the camel was created, 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the hills, how they are set up? 19 and how the earth is spread out? 20 Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; 21 You do not have full control over them. 22 Other than him who turns his back and denies, 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 Truly, to Us is their return; 25 In Our hands are their accounts. 26
