The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth, 1 Createth man from a clot. 2 Read and your Lord is Most Honorable, 3 He Who taught (the use of) the pen,- 4 Teacheth man that which he knew not. 5 And yet, but yet man is rebellious, 6 because he thinks himself self-sufficient: 7 Verily, to thy Lord is the return (of all). 8 Did you see him who forbids 9 a servant (of Allah) when he prays? 10 Have you seen if he is upon guidance 11 or enjoins true piety? 12 Tell me if he (the disbeliever, Abu Jahl) denies (the truth, i.e. this Quran), and turns away? 13 Does he not realize that God sees him? 14 Yes certainly, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock. 15 by the lying forelock steeped in sin. 16 and then let him summon [to his aid] the counsels of his own [spurious] wisdom, 17 and We too will call the stern and angry keepers of hell. 18 By no means! Obey not thou him. Continue to adore, and continue to draw nigh. ۩ 19
Almighty Allah's Truth.
