(O Prophet), did the story of Abraham's honoured guests reach you? 24 When they came to him, they said: "Peace." He answered: "Peace." They were a people he did not recognise. 25 Then he turned quickly to his household, brought out a fatted calf, 26 He placed it before them. Then he said, "Why are you not eating?" 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: fear not. And they gave him the tidings of a youth knowing. 28 His wife came forward, crying and beating her face, saying, "I am an old barren woman!" 29 They said: Even so saith thy Lord. Lo! He is the Wise, the Knower. 30 ۞ Abraham asked, "What is your errand, O messengers?" 31 They said, “We have been sent towards a guilty nation.” 32 so that we bring down stones of clay upon them 33 Marked by your Lord for the Musrifun (polytheists, criminals, sinners those who trespass Allah's set limits in evil-doings by committing great sins). 34 And in the course of time We brought out [of Lot 's city] such [few] believers as were there: 35 But We did not find therein save a (single) house of those who submitted (the Muslims). 36 and We left therein a sign for those who fear a painful punishment. 37 And in Musa (Moses) (too, there is a sign). When We sent him to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) with a manifest authority. 38 The Pharaoh and his forces turned away from him, saying, "He is either a magician or an insane person". 39 So We seized him and his hosts, and cast them into the sea. He became an object of much blame. 40 And [you have the same message] in [what happened to the tribe of] Ad, when We let loose against them that life-destroying wind 41 It left not aught whereon it came but it made it as matter decayed. 42 And in the tribe of Thamud when it was told to them, “Enjoy for a while.” 43 Then they turned in disdain from the commandment of their Lord, and the thunderbolt took them and they themselves beholding 44 And they were unable to arise, nor could they defend themselves. 45 And the folk of Noah aforetime. Lo! they were licentious folk. 46
