Hast thou considered him who turns his back 33 And gives a little and (then) withholds. 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Or, has he not been told of that which is in the Scrolls of Moses 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 that no bearer of burdens shall be made to bear another's burden; 38 And that man will not obtain anything except what he strove for? 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 Then he will be recompensed with a full and the best recompense. 41 And that to your Lord is the goal- 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 and He it is Who created the two kinds, the male and the female, 45 of a sperm-drop, when it was cast forth, 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 And that He only is the Lord of the star Sirius? 49 It was He who totally destroyed the former 'Ad 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about? 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 There hath approached the approaching Hour. 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 Then at this statement do you wonder? 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]. ۩ 62
