Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 And when the stars shall be scattered, 2 When the Oceans are suffered to burst forth; 3 And when the graves are laid open, 4 then everyone will know what he has sent ahead, and what he has left behind. 5 O MAN! What is it that lures thee away from thy bountiful Sustainer, 6 Who created you, fashioned you perfectly, and gave you due proportion; 7 In whatever shape He will He could surely have fashioned you. 8 Nay! but you give the lie to the judgment day, 9 But verily, over you (are appointed angels in charge of mankind) to watch you. 10 Kind and honourable,- Writing down (your deeds): 11 They know what you do. 12 the virtuous will dwell in bliss, 13 whereas the wicked will be in Hell; 14 They shall enter it on the day of judgment. 15 And they shall by no means be absent from it. 16 How can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 17 Again, what shall teach thee what is the Day of Doom? 18 It is a Day whereon no soul shall own aught of power for any soul; and the command on that Day will be Allah's. 19
