But the leaders of his people who denied the truth and denied the Meeting in the Hereafter, because We had granted them ease and plenty in their worldly life, said, "This is only a human being like yourselves, he eats what you eat, and drinks what you drink, 33 If you follow a mortal like yourselves you will certainly be lost. 34 Does he promise you that when you have died and become dust and bones that you will be brought forth [once more]? 35 ۞ What you are promised is indeed far-fetched. 36 “There is nothing except our life of this world, we die and we live, and we are not to be raised.” 37 “He is just a man who has fabricated a lie against Allah, and we are not going to believe him.” 38 He said: 'Help me, Lord, they belie me' 39 Said Allah, “They will soon wake up at morn, regretting.” 40 Then the shout laid hold of them in truth, and We made them a refuse; so away with the wrong-doing people! 41 Thereafter, after them, We produced other generations; 42 Every nation has an appointed life span. 43 Then sent We our messengers in succession: every time there came to a people their messenger, they accused him of falsehood: so We made them follow each other (in punishment): We made them as a tale (that is told): So away with a people that will not believe! 44 AND THEN We sent forth Moses and his brother Aaron with Our messages and a manifest authority [from Us] 45 To Firon and his chiefs, but they behaved haughtily and they were an insolent people. 46 And they said: What! shall we believe in two mortals like ourselves while their people serve us? 47 Thus, they gave the lie to those two, and earned (thereby) their place among the doomed: 48 And assuredly We vouchsafed unto Musa the Book, that haply they may be guided. 49 And We made the son of Maryam (Prophet Eisa) and his mother a sign, and We gave them shelter on a height, a place to stay and visible springs. 50
