AND HAS the story of Abraham's honoured guests ever come within thy ken? 24 When they came to him, they said: "Peace." He answered: "Peace." They were a people he did not recognise. 25 Then he turned aside to his family secretly and brought a fat (roasted) calf, 26 And he set it before them, saying: Will ye not eat? 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said, 'Be not afraid!' And they gave him good tidings of a cunning boy. 28 His wife came out lamenting, striking her forehead, and said: "I, am old and barren woman?" 29 They said, "This is true but your Lord has said, (that you will have a son); He is All-wise and All-knowing". 30 ۞ Abraham said: “Envoys (of Allah), what is your errand?” 31 They answered: "Behold, we have been sent unto a people lost in sin, 32 To send down upon them stones of baked clay. 33 "Marked as from thy Lord for those who trespass beyond bounds." 34 Then We evacuated those of the Believers who were there, 35 But We found in it only one household of those who had surrendered themselves, 36 And We left behind therein a portent for those who fear a painful doom. 37 And in Musa also was a lesson, when We sent him unto Fir'awn with authority manifest. 38 In response, he turned away along with his army and said, “He is a magician or a madman.” 39 So We seized him and his hosts and hurled them into the sea and he was blamable. 40 And in the tribe of A’ad, when we sent a dry windstorm upon them. 41 Which turned everything it touched to ashes. 42 And in Thamood it was said to them: 'Take your enjoyment for awhile' 43 Then they turned in disdain from the commandment of their Lord, and the thunderbolt took them and they themselves beholding 44 And they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves. 45 The people of Noah who lived before them were also evil doing people. 46
