The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
READ in the name of thy Sustainer, who has created 1 Created man from a clot. 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 who, by the pen, taught the human being: 4 taught man what he did not know! 5 And yet, but yet man is rebellious, 6 because he thinks himself self-sufficient: 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the returning. 8 What thinkest thou? He who forbids 9 A slave when he prayeth? 10 What is your opinion – if he were upon guidance, 11 or orders piety? 12 What thinkest thou? If he cries lies, and turns away - 13 Does he not know that Allah does see? 14 No! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock - 15 his lying sinful forelock. 16 So let him call his associates, 17 We will call on the angels of punishment (to deal with him)! 18 Yes indeed; do not listen to him – and prostrate, and become close to Us. (Command of Prostration # 14) ۩ 19
