The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
