The people of Lut denied the Noble Messengers. 160 when their brother Lot said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 161 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 162 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 163 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 164 “What! Among all the creatures, you commit the immoral acts with men?” 165 leaving your wives that your Lord created for you? Nay, but you are a people of transgressors. 166 They said: "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will be expelled (from the city)." 167 [Lot] exclaimed: "Behold, I am one of those who utterly abhor your doings!" 168 Lord, save me and my family from their deeds." 169 So We delivered him and his family,- all 170 Save an old woman among the lingerers. 171 Then afterward We destroyed the others. 172 And rained on them a shower (of Stones). How terrible was the rain (that fell) on those who had been warned! 173 Surely, in that there is a sign. Yet most of them do not believe. 174 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
