Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
I CALL TO witness those who scatter (dust) by dispersing, 1 And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water] 2 and those speeding along with ease, 3 And those (angels) who distribute (provisions, rain, and other blessings) by (Allah's) Command; 4 Lo! that wherewith ye are threatened is indeed true, 5 And indeed, the recompense is to occur. 6 By the heaven containing pathways, 7 surely you are deeply at variance [as to what to believe] -- 8 Let whoever wishes, turn away from Our Quran. 9 Destroyed are the falsifiers 10 who are heedless in the immersion. 11 they who [mockingly] ask, "When is that Day of Judgment to be?" 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire! 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 As to the Righteous, they will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs, 15 joyously receiving what their Lord will have granted them. Verily they did good works before (the coming of this Day): 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 And in the hour of early dawn, they (were found) praying for Forgiveness; 18 And in their wealth and possessions (was remembered) the right of the (needy,) him who asked, and him who (for some reason) was prevented (from asking). 19 And on the earth there are signs for those who would be convinced. 20 and also in yourselves. Can you not see? 21 There is in the heavens your sustenance, and whatever has been promised you. 22 Then by the Lord of the heaven and earth, indeed, it is truth - just as [sure as] it is that you are speaking. 23
