If anyone withdraws himself from remembrance of (Allah) Most Gracious, We appoint for him an evil one, to be an intimate companion to him. 36 And verily they hinder them from the way, whilst they deem that they are rightly guided. 37 When such a person comes to Us, he will say [to his comrade], "If only you had been as far away from me as east is from west. What an evil comrade!" 38 They will be told on the Day of Judgment, "Regret will never be of any benefit to you. You have done injustice to your souls and you will share the torment". 39 What, will you make the deaf hear, or guide the blind and he who is in clear error? 40 Whether We take thee away, We shall take vengeance upon them, 41 Or (if) We show you that wherewith We threaten them, then verily, We have perfect command over them. 42 So hold fast to what has been revealed to you. You are truly on the right path. 43 And verily, this (the Quran) is indeed a Reminder for you (O Muhammad SAW) and your people (Quraish people, or your followers), and you will be questioned (about it). 44 And ask those of Our apostles whom We sent before you: Did We ever appoint gods to be worshipped besides the Beneficent Allah? 45
