Friday (Al-Jumu'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth halloweth Allah, the Sovereign, the Holy, the Mighty, the Wise. 1 He it is Who raised among the inhabitants of Mecca an Apostle from among themselves, who recites to them His communications and purifies them, and teaches them the Book and the Wisdom, although they were before certainly in clear error, 2 and to others also, from among them, who have not yet joined them. He is the Mighty, the Wise One. 3 Such is the Bounty of Allah, which He bestows on whom He will: and Allah is the Lord of the highest bounty. 4 The likeness of those who were entrusted with the (obligation of the) Taurat (Torah) (i.e. to obey its commandments and to practise its legal laws), but who subsequently failed in those (obligations), is as the likeness of a donkey who carries huge burdens of books (but understands nothing from them). How bad is the example (or the likeness) of people who deny the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allah. And Allah guides not the people who are Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers, disbelievers, etc.). 5 Say “O Jews! If you assume that you are Allah’s friends, others are not, then wish for death if you are truthful!” 6 But they will never long for it, because of that their hands have forwarded; God knows the evildoers. 7 Say (to them): "Verily, the death from which you flee will surely meet you, then you will be sent back to (Allah), the All-Knower of the unseen and the seen, and He will tell you what you used to do." 8
