The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
