Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is cleft asunder; 1 the stars are dispersed, 2 When the Oceans are suffered to burst forth; 3 And when the graves are overturned. 4 Each soul will know what it had sent ahead and what it had left behind. 5 O man! What is it that lures you away from your bountiful Sustainer, 6 who has created thee, and formed thee in accordance with what thou art meant' to be, and shaped thy nature in just proportions, 7 Into whatsoever form He will, He casteth thee. 8 Nay, [O men,] but you [are lured away from God whenever you are tempted to] give the lie to [God's] Judgment! 9 But verily, over you (are appointed angels in charge of mankind) to watch you. 10 watching over you 11 They know all that you do. 12 Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. 13 And the Wicked - they will be in the Fire, 14 They will burn in it on the Day of Judgement, 15 nor shall they ever be absent from it. 16 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Doom? 17 Again would that you only knew how terrible it really is! 18 The day on which no soul shall control anything for (another) soul; and the command on that day shall be entirely Allah's. 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
