The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By heaven of the constellations, 1 And by the Day promised, 2 by the Witness and the witnessed, 3 destroyed were the people of the trench, 4 Of fire fuel-fed, 5 When they were sitting at its edge. 6 and were witnessing what they did to the believers. 7 And they persecuted them for naught save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praiseworthy 8 To whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And Allah, over all things, is Witness. 9 Surely for those who persecute believers, men and women, and do not repent afterwards, is the punishment of Hell, and the punishment of burning. 10 Verily, those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them will be Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise). That is the great success. 11 The vengeance of God is terribly severe. 12 Verily, He it is Who begins (punishment) and repeats (punishment in the Hereafter) (or originates the creation of everything, and then repeats it on the Day of Resurrection). 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, 14 Lord of the Arsh, the Glorious, 15 The great doer of what He will. 16 Has it come to you the story of the hosts 17 of the Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 In fact, the disbelievers had always rejected (Our revelations). 19 but all the while God encompasses them [with His knowledge and might] without their being aware of it. 20 Nay! it is a glorious Quran, 21 that exists in a well-guarded tablet. 22
